Knickerbocker Saloon

Established in 1835 as the "Cherry Wood Bar" of the Lahr Luxury hotel, and issued Indiana's very first Liquor License. This is the fact Indiana's OLDEST bar!!

Over the last 172 years, Knickerbocker has had many restorations, including the replacement of the orignal bar in 1891 to what you see now. The current bar was hand crafted by Dutch immigrant craftsmen, entirely of solid cherry and black walnut; a truly magnificent masterpiece. The entertainment room behind the bar was added in the early 1980s, allowing the Knickerbocker to host nationally touring Jazz and Blues acts including Kenny Neil, Tommy Castro, and Coco Montoya to name a few. Adding Rock'n'Roll to the music line-up, the Knickerbocker has a renewed freshness without sacrificing the quality, class and style that has made the Knickerbocker the discerning customer's choice for conversation and libation!

In addition, The Knickerbocker boasts a guest list including President Grant, Mark Twain, Al Capone, and even Neil Armstrong.

Mourtain Jack's in Lafayette, Indiana

Mountain Jack's has been the restaurant of choice in Lafayette, Indiana for more than 30 years. They're located on SR-26, right off of I-65. They specialize in hand cut steaks - "The BEST Prime Rib in Town" - and variety of seafood, chicken, and pork dishes. Along with 3 beautiful stone firepaces, they feature a full service bar with a very extensive wine collection and two private banquet rooms which hold up to 80 guests. Chef Theodore Stoup and his team make all of the time tested unique recipes in house from the best ingredients only - range from the famous salad wheel that comes to your table to the dessert tray presentation. Lafayette premiers steak house committed to the tradition of big city steakhouse without the big city prices!

When my parents come to town my dad's favorite place to eat is Mountain Jacks. As a former Illinois farm kid, this is the only steak that he has found in Lafayette to meet his standards. Mom on the hand likes the Salmon, but more importantly likes the salad. Made fresh table side from a smorgasbord of ingredients the salad adds just the extra perfect personal touch to make the meal special. But DON'T forget the dessert and that final cup of coffee to top off the meal. Stop by the front desk to receive a coupon for a free appetizer or dessert as a thank you from us to you.

Mountain jack's has been an icon in the Lafayette Community since 1977 -
